A Word of
Thanks to our Catholic School Principals!
By James Herzog,
FCC Accreditation Program Manager
Fall Semester, 2007
Dear
Catholic School Principals:
It is hard to believe another school year is
upon us. Around the
nation, teachers are making last-minute changes
to lesson plans, parents are dropping off
children to the first few days of classes (and
snapping a few quick pictures), administrators
are welcoming students and families, and many
related scenes are taking place.
I am humbled and honored to be writing each of
you who are so crucial to the mission of our
Catholic schools in Florida and Georgia. At
present, there are 196 Principals located within
eight dioceses for our Florida Catholic
Conference Accreditation Program (FCCAP)
schools. Each of you serves a pivotal role in
our education system, and should be thanked for
your tireless work and dedication.
Without further adieu, I would just like to add
these words of welcome to the new school year.
Please let me or my new Accreditation Assistant,
Erika Hagan, know if there are any ways we can
be
of service related to accreditation matters
(such as providing information about
Self-Studies, Third-Year Reviews, On-Site
Visitations, etc.).
On a related note, we tried something new this
year by sending out
an early notice for accreditation dues. Many of
you have thus already paid dues in the amount of
$1.45 per student enrolled (Pre-K to 8th
Grade). For those who have not yet paid dues
for 2007-08, a printable copy of the dues form
is available on our website at:
http://www.flacathconf.org/Accreditation/AnnDues.htm.
Finally, please keep a look out for another
letter from this Office regarding the Annual
Report of Continued Accreditation (ARCA). Over
the summer, we have sought to make our
electronic ARCA system more user friendly, and
expect to send out the website link and general
tips/ directions soon.
Thank you once again for your service and
dedication to our Catholic schools!
