CALL TO ACTION ALERT ON EDUCATIONAL LEGISLATION

Issue:   If your elected state Senator is serving on the Senate Education Committee, please contact him/her before Senate Bill 1048 (Corporate Tax Scholarship) is introduced Tuesday, March 6, during the Senate Education Committee Meeting.   Presently, only lower-income families whose children are enrolled in public school are eligible for a scholarship.

Requested Action:    Please ask your Senator to oppose eligibility language that is based on what school system a child attends, and ask that the bill be amended so eligibility is based on financial need, regardless of the school the child attends.
