PASSES HOUSE / SENATE JUDICIARY PASSES SIMILAR MEASURE
HOUSE
After much debate and the
defeat of a potentially harmful amendment, the House passed a proposed amendment
to the Florida Constitution
regarding parental notification by a vote of 93-25. The exact language must pass
both the House and Senate to be on the ballot
at the Nov. general election for approval by voters.
Please write to those listed
below who voted "yes" to express appreciation and ask those who voted
"no"
to reconsider their position.

A committee substitute for SJR
2178, sponsored by Sen. Diaz de la Portilla, with three amendments passed the
Senate Judiciary by a 5 to 3 vote today.
Voting yes were Senators Campbell, Clary, Peaden, Villalobos and Webster.
"No" votes were Senators Aaronberg,
Carlton and Smith.
The next stop, before a floor
vote, is the Senate Rules and Calendar. Please contact your Senators now and
urge them to support parents' right to be notified of their minor daughter's
intention to have an abortion.
